Mrparka Review's "Reflecting Skin"

Directed by Phillip Ridley we have a unsettling film that takes place in the 40s in a rural community. Our lead character is a very different 8 year old named "Seth Dove". Terrible things are happening around him, his mother is insane and abusing, is father is a sheepish man with a dark past, not to mention he thinks the lonely women up the road is a vampire. Reflecting Skin has alot of different things happening and the story unfolds quite well using effective fore shadowing and reoccurring themes. The acting for the most part is top notch and dramatic build up is spine tingling. Dark, disturbing, and different Reflecting Skin maybe like a lost David Lynch film.

I saw this last year after getting it from a friend and really enjoyed it a lot. I think (if I remember correctly) it was a BBC production or distribution? Until I saw it I knew nothing about it and had never seen/heard anything about it. Great to see you reviewing it, came as a nice surprise. :)
