Wine, Pasta, Olive Oil...Panforte? Learn about a lesser known speciality of Tuscany.

When visitors come to Siena and other parts of Tuscany, they go for local specialties like the wine, pasta and olive oil. Few visitors however, are aware of another Siena specialty: Panforte.

Panforte can be found at bakeries throughout Siena. Many of them bake deli-cation primacies. Panforte is a traditional kind of pastry with a history as rich as its flavor. The traditional panforte has nuts, honey, dry fruit and flour. Sometimes a secret combination of spices is added as well.

"It tastes a little bit like a Germany Christmas cake, but it is nice, I like it. It is nice." I am Ester Salis showing you Siena.
