@MegaStuv i usually fish dead but u can do live i like 5 to 6 ounce weights depending on the waves about 50 yards is all u need to get the bait out but if u want u can get the bait out 150 with practice if u need any more details send me a message

@texashombre offshore angler powerstick 100 bucks only at bass pro, the reel is a penn 650 ssm holds about 300 yards of 15 lb mono it costs about 150 bucks i have the 750 and its great the rod is a 12 foot i wouldent recommend putting anything larger than the 650 on it
