  • Nice Alan.

  • We still have Spider and Invader pans and 4/5ths from Bb so the guys will call them that, you rarely hear 'tenor'. Russell Henderson MBE comments that:- 'The " Tenor-pan" is a Steel- Pan name, and should not be compared with other musical instruments, or the human voice. It is also known as a :Ping-pong, High -tenor and low tenor.' He, as you will know, is one of those people you mention.

  • the double second pans plays melody harmony counter melody and accompany they also have the best voice the alto voice even tho its not the lead the double second is the best ..thats the pan he is playing

  • @Fireflies49 soprano is the voice of the tenor pan double tenors play the mezzo soprano and double seconds play the besttttt alto part guitar is lower baritone cello baritone quads baritone basses play the lowest bass

  • The lead, or soprano pan is often referred to as a 'tenor' but if any the latter is not always musically correct, you will have to ask a musician exactly why that is so. Depends really who you mix with and which country you are in. Some still call them ping pong's because the single notes were pushed up from bottom and looked like ping pong balls, but as you are from Trinidad I guess you know that!

  • @shantee2000 ???? wat is sopranos??? i play pan AND im from trinidad dere's no pan called sopranos.
