Hey everyone! I've been collaborating with my youtube gf, Torrinpaige, on these fun videos and we'd originally decided she'd do Dany! Torrin's hair is the same length and I knew she'd be great at all the Dorthraki braids!
Having just moved though, I've been without cable for nearly two weeks and was depending entirely on family members to let me borrow their tv for an hour to catch up on my beloved show! So when I got to see the last episode I was so excited that I think it impressed me twice as much! I'll never take television for granted again! LOL

I know Torrin's going to do this hair too, and I hope she won't be upset that I went over her head on this, but I just LOVED this scene and that braid, and I really wanted to try and recreate this too! With the Stark family falling to pieces, Dany's become my only hope left in squashing the Lannisters. For those of you that read the novels, don't tell me anything - I'm going away for three weeks and will finally get some peace and quiet so that I can read them too!

Anywho, please forgive me for getting in the way of Torrin's plans! Like I said I was just so thrilled with the last scene I couldn't wait to try this out! But its not totally authentic (I cheated a little!) to the look the actress wore, so stay tuned for my friend's video! This is the only Dany style I'll probably do, so if you're interested in any of her other styles, watch Torrin's videos! I think the next video for me will be another Sansa style. I'd like to delve alittle more into her look!

I do not own the background music in this video, but I am not breaking any rules as the composer has been deceased for more then a 100 years. All the content is original and mine. Thank you.

  • Lovely tutorial. I tried it right after i finish watching this tutorial. Well.. I gave up after the first half braid on the right side of my head. Haha. I was wondering if you might do a video on the 'authentic' pyre scene look on a friend. It will be so cool. =)

  • @Jasmin3Ch33 I would love to! But at the moment I don't have any friends with hair long enough, or the time! :( I plan on doing some more Game of Thrones ideas though, and I'll probably have to use my own hair again! Maybe someday I will get a mannequin!

  • Is Daenery your favorite Character???

  • @TheLadyPlantagenet I love her, but I think Arya is probably my favorite, followed by Jon and then Dany!

  • I have studied the screencaps and it looks like the middle braid is left alone and the other two are left braided apart but joined with bobby pins. See this screencap to see what I mean: emiliaclarke[dot]com/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=3606&fullsize=1

A good solution for this would be to join the 3 in a 5 strand braid for that joined look you were going for. Other than that great tutorial!

  • @maverick494 Well thank you!! And thank you for the tip!!

  • @ChelseaSings421 Well thank you so much for saying so! Hope you try it out despite curly hair! Curly hair is actually great for braids, because the ends don't stick out the way straight hair might!

  • This is wonderful! I just finished watching GOT and Daenerys's hairstyles are all so wonderful. Especially this one, and you did such a good job explaining it. :) I just wish my hair wasn't so darn curly, it makes it pretty impossible for me to braid myself.

  • @WitchieBelle Well thank you! I'm kind of a perfectionist, but to a fault - my hair is totally not long enough for most of the things I envision in my head! So I'm usually super frustrated during most of the filming! I'm very glad you like them, thank you for such a nice compliment!
