FF12 - how to get level 99 fast & early (stage 2-1: the rod in the Estersand)

Level 99 in FF12 in under 50 hours with little story progress? Seems impossible, doesn't it, considering you don't have access to the embroidered tippet? What's more, it's not just one character that gets this, but 4 and it's doable in potentially 40 hours at a very fast run! This video is comprised of 8 stages with typically 3 parts in each stage. Stage 2 mentions of a power powerful weapon, the rod, of which will make the next 2 stages fast and easy. To shave off time, save in South Bank Village if you don't get the rod, reset, then try again, ignoring enemies as much as needed. Once obtained, spend time whacking wolves in the Estersand (which should now be defeated in one hit) for easy license points.

@ulillillia Which four characters do you get at level 99, by leveling Vaan up to 99(I really don't like Vaan, and I'm hoping Penelo's one of them..)

Vaan (obviously), Basch, Ashe, and Penelo will start on level 99. Balthier and Fran will start at the level you first got them. To get them to start on level 99 as well, you must use the 70-hour method.

i tried this today and it helped out a lot. thanks! oh yeah, did you know that you can go back for another one? i tried for three but the treasure vase wasnt there. maybe i did something wrong or two is the limit. happy xmas!! :)

That particular treasure respawns indefinitely. If it doesn't appear, either quit and reload or get 3 zones away and return.

@ulillillia again the dustia thing everytime your near critical when u hit your self quickly change your weapon it will prevent the combo from forming and then their you go and you can only get critical hits from guns or bows thats it

I find dustia extremely risky, especially at a low level. At level 5, you only have around 200 HP so it makes dropping to 20 or below very difficult. One wrong move or an unexpected combo or critical hit means game over.
