do you have the air research turbo on it? If so what are your boost? I have the same engine same car and i can get 12 if im lucky. Ive blocked off my wastegate and everything

@dankcorey2424 It is completely stock, turbo and all. I left it that way just to break it in thinking i might consider a larger turbo later on but never got my hands on one. For boost it peaked around 13 psi. Seemed like it would reach higher boost faster if the pump was not at WOT. I still have the car but now drive an 02 jetta tdi lol.

@fasthonda100 Thats awesome, Thats like me i have a 99.5 TDI with a crap ton of mods and this 1.6 TD check out my page
I wish i could find the problem with my turbo, Ive checked or disabled everything i can think of to get it to boost more. Maybe the wastegate is stuck open a little bit

@dankcorey2424 Thats awesome, will do when i get home tonight since im just about to head out.
Do you feel it is underboosting? Dont forget about that 'blow off valve' on the intake on the passenger side. It will dump any boost prior to your wastegate given that it is calibrated to a lower PSI value. A neat trick is to take the elbow hose off it and test drive it. You will hear it pop at the right load and then you can watch your boost gauge to see if drops at the same time.

@fasthonda100 It does feel under boost but now that i think im used to my TDI i guess the boost is coming on right for a Non-VNT turbo. I hit 13 PSI today probably around 3000 RPM does that sound right? Ive got everything blocked off i have the dump valve on the intake blocked off with a expandable freeze plug, and ive got the wastegate blocked off also. But i know one thing That turbo is LOUD!!! lol
