Everyone forgets that when you are a tax free organization it is by law that you must not use monies to influence government in ANY way. There is PROOF that they broke the law by cooking the books on the amount they gave to support this bill. CHURCHES should NOT mix with government for ANYTHING!!!

Why all the backlash for people having an opinion and a church donating money to a cause? Don't we live in America where we have the right to believe what we want? Money from the LDS church or not the people still voted and the law was repealed. You can argue all you want about what should go on but it still was up to a vote. How can you argue with the outcome of a vote from the people? Mormon leaders have opinions too. Just because they don't agree with gays doesn't mean they hate. Get a life.

@bigmic82 We all do have the right to choose, but unfortunately many do not choose of their own free will and history has shown that religions have a very strong influence ove their members (Jim Jones, David Koresh, etc.). When a church starts telling people how to vote or how to donate money they are not allowing members to act on their own free agency. We can't trust our members to do the right thing so must dictate their actions.
