Gossip Girl/ English Presentation

This is the subject for my English Presentation on Media literacy and stereotypes. Not intended for public critism, please. It would not send over e-mail and I did not want to bring in my computer to and from school tomorrow (day of presentation) so I uploaded it on Youtube for easy acsess. Thank you. "The purpose of this series is mainly for entertainment for young woman ranging from 14 to mid-twenties. They have similar lives (though their lifestyles are more privileged that some of us) focused on education (pre or post college) and are expected to have some sort of social life. Mainly goals and friends is the focus point of their lives. The value of the drama-romance series represents the same value of importance for friends and a healthy social life. If we dismember and reconstruct the plot and meaning of this show the representation is the same. Friends and fashion are the center of their lives but if we probe deeper into the series' structure we will notice the main point is often repeated in episodes demonstrating how crucial relationships are to a person. We can connect to this because the same theory applies to us and how our lives' circle these same aspects. When simplified and broken down, we can relate to these characters and their common complications because, even though sometimes exaggerated, still happen to us. "
