  • Great video! I was just wondering if it would still work if I chained 2 instead of one when moving to the next section? Would it just make the holes bigger, or would it mess everything up?

  • @lowbrasshoney you could try it to make the holes bigger but it may cause the square to lay funny and twist

  • Hi, I was wondering in my granny squares, how can I keep track of the corners, my granny squares do not look right. Please help a beginner get this one, I will not give up on learning crochet. Also do you have viedo on Prayer Shawls. Thank you Mickey, you are the best.

  • @1975ccoleman hello...granny squares can be tricky at first, takes some practice...but once you get them down they are easy...pay attention to your corners they are very important in a granny square when you get to your corners always say (3dc, chain 2, 3dc) thats what makes up your corners and you will have 4 corners like a square so count them too...... cathy@mikeys helpdesk :)

  • @mikeyssmail ......as you go to as far as the prayer shawl mikey doesn't have a tutorial on that but if you look on youtube there are other videos there hope this helps.....cathy

  • Hi mikey

im getting good at doning the granny square just few questions if you could help please :)

    1) Should i turn the blanket every time i chnage up get to the edge

    2) how to i make the holes smaller on the granny square, ive tried smaller hook not made any diff that i can see!!

    Thank :)

  • @532818 hello....yes you want to turn the blanket at the corner and start working on the next side.........a smaller hook will help make holes smaller but if thats not closed enough for you another option is to double up on your yarn and use two strands as one or get a thicker yarn if your using a 3 or 4 ply get like a 5 hope that helps.....cathy @ mikeys helpdesk :)
