@craptakular995 shi has more than one meaning, i.e. buSHIdo
-
how you guys been, long time no see this is Lewis

the first kata was the 13 and the second one was the 31 jo kata
-
that is really only true for when you say "shi" alone. Because "shi" is the word for death and by itself can be considered bad luck, but when used in counting it's normally preceded and followed by other things so it isn't seen as saying it alone and can't be perceived as the word "death". (I train in a few martial arts and I had this explained to me by at least 4 Sensei's)

'ju-shi' 'ni-ju-shi'. I am not trying to be mean at this at all but it is considered a little bit of bad luck to say these things. I think because 'shi' sounds like death in Japanese. Try 'ju-yon' and 'ni-ju-yon' insted and they will work much better for your luck if you like to think those things. If it is normal '4' it is good to say 'shi' but after normal 4 any other 4s are not 'shi' most of the times. They are 'yon'. for example our techniques 'yonkyo' or 4 Dan is 'YonDan'.:)
