It's been 10 years since Tony Blair broke all records and brought his New Labour party into power, after 18 years in the political wilderness. He made them electable.

Then he won another two election victories for his party in 2001 and 2005. Now, in their wisdom, that party wants him to leave office before his time is up. As an ordinary British voter no-one asked ME! I'd have wanted him to stay if they had. And I'm not even a Labour voter.

An interesting kind of democracy.

Some of us ARE going to miss Tony Blair; perhaps more of us than we realise right now. And I, for one, DO appreciate what he's done for our country. This short video is just to say - Thank You, Mr Blair.

My blog "Keep Tony Blair For PM" -

http://keeptonyblairforpm.wordpress.com

- will still be around for a bit yet. Loads of videos and audios and pictures and information about Tony Blair on there, if you want to take a look. I got carried away a little!

Yes, I know he's going - I had noticed. But the vitriolic British press had to be countered somehow ... somewhere. And once I had started ... well, I just couldn't really stop!

It and this video, (the singer is someone I know well) is my small contribution to arguably the best prime minister Britain has had for decades.

  • Some of us missed him before he went. Some of us knew he was irreplaceable.

    Sorry to rub it in.

  • omg! couldnt agree more with what you are saying! Tony Blair had personality, gordon brown is dull and boring!! David cameron does have some of the blair qualities but he annoys me as I think hes just trying to act like him! Tony blair had youth on his side too which was refreshing for a pm!

  • lol well at least there is one like minded person! Gordan Brown is such a joke! I miss the Blair days Thanks for the info will look those things up! Rachel x

  • agreed!!!

  • Youre quite right, Lilzak1510 -

"but I can admit that his decision to go to Iraq was not right and history won't show that. "

History CERTAINLY won't show that his decision was "not right".

Too many double negatives for your suspicious, know-all, negative, ignorant semi-informed mind to cope with?

Blair WAS right over Iraq. History will prove it.

Thanks for visiting the blog, btw.

  • Oh my god you are far inside Tony Blair's ass it's unbelievable.. *does the slurping noise of Diane Abott* I know and everyone else knows his decision to invade Iraq was a reckless decision on Blair's behalf, his decision to invade Iraq with how shall I say it 'made up evidence'. No one will deny that Blair was a great leader that brought prosperity in the Labour party and I am a great fan of him, but I can admit that his decision to go to Iraq was not right and history won't show that.

  • He is missed at this sorry stage

  • You people with your "no evidence" and WMD "lies" stuff make me despair. How are YOUR so sure LIES were told? All the world, including the UN believed the intelligence. Even the French and Germans (who provided much of it) didn't doubt it. They just didn't want to get their hands dirty, preferring to leave it to the countries with balls - USA/UK/Spain/Australia etc. Plus ca change, eh?

Doing nothing is not an option. And I am no Tory. Blair's Chicago2 speech still applies as in 1999. Visionary.

  • And the Tories would still be silent if he were leading the Labour Party. They KNEW they could not beat him. Cameron always sounded like an empty vessel in PMQs with Blair. He still is empty, though he sounds half-full now that Brown is the vacant head.

Iraq was right - Blair was right. History will show that.

  • I agree with your comment: "Some of us ARE going to miss Tony Blair; perhaps more of us than we realise right now." Brown is alright, but he is too cold towards the public, blair seemed much more warm and friendly

  • lol nutty video
