  • I would like that song, too! Thank you so much for posting this beautiful bit of traveling. It makes me homesick for California.

  • @skoozeroni Cindy has put the song on our posterous site. Just search JCVdude posterous Translucent.

  • also what's the song? I really like it

  • It's called 'Translucent' - cindy's song. If you want it, I'll have her email it to you.

  • I rode my bike through the redwoods, it was awesome

  • The redwoods is one of my favourite places and I went last summer. I would much rather visit the redwoods anytime than the big cities south.. Tranquility, lovely and nature:)

  • It's true that if one wants to see the coastal redwoods in their true majesty then one needs to go north to at least Humboldt Redwoods State Park.

BUT for those that can't make that drive - it's around a 6+ hour HARD drive - there are coastal redwoods more majestic than Muir Woods in the Bay Area and they're in the Santa Cruz Mountains to the south of San Francisco and are only around an hour and half drive for folks in San Francisco, the Peninsula and East Bay.

  • To really see the redwoods, one must get out of their car, and they need to go farther north than San Francisco. The biggest and tallest are in Humboldt and Del Norte counties, and the travel to that part of north California is well worth it.

Even the world's tallest Pine in Oregon and tallest Hemlock in Huboldt county, CA, are taller than every redwood of Muir Woods. So set your sights on the northernmost counties of CA.

  • I lived in California(mostly L.A.) for 10 years, but I never got to see the redwoods or northern seashore. It's absolutely breathtaking from the looks of this wonderful video you made. There's nothing like seeing the sun drop into the pacific at dusk. I live in northwestern New Jersey and it's very green and beautiful. But instead of redwoods, we got huge oaks and maples that lushly blanket the land. From a northeastern point of view, the redwoods are impressive. Thanks for posting this. Peace.

  • My home, thanks for posting

  • No doubt Northen California is one of the most beautiful places on the planet! the coast, the rivers, the mountains, the redwoods, it's like heaven on earth..
