possible ur carrier has EDGE Evolved which can hit speeds of 250K-800K /sec

where i am at my iphone 3g gets 1.2 Mb per second
and my iphone edge gets like almost 190 kb per second.
it might be location
btw ATT 3G is gonna be much slower because of the amount of data going trhough because of all the iphone usage
it makes sense ATT is gonna get hammered vs tmobile and verizon.
most phones dont use nearly as much data as the iphone does

that's pretty slow, I get 320kbps on EDGE here in Scotland and over 2MB on 3G, is there something wrong with AT&Ts network?

if you use data alot then yes. if you just text and call people just keep the old one.
