Last November, a spectacularly diverse high school in New York was rocked by a rare incident of racism and bullying.
How did students respond? Basically, they rocked. They entered Breakthrough's I AM THIS LAND video contest (www.iamthisland.org) - which called on young people everywhere to bring to film the power and beauty of diversity -- and they won, in more ways than one.
Check out the winning video, Role Call, created by an inspiring team from Flushing International High School. It's now being shown in high schools nationwide to spark conversations about stereotypes (boo) and diversity (w00t!). Thank you for submitting and watching videos, voting for your favorites, and spreading the word. Only with your partnership can we move closer to a new, improved America that celebrates equality and respect for all.
Your donation of $25 or more helps us ensure that young people - like those who created Role Call - can continue to set the tone, make some noise, and keep it real, in America and throughout the world.
Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution today. (https://www.z2systems.com/np/clients/breakthrough/donation.jsp)
That is amazingly beautiful and creative! WELL DONE!
