  • I hope that microsoft understands, this really dumbs down windows for the sake of attracting more people, while alienating their hard core customers. they better not kid themselves, there are more and more alternatives (many free) to windows.

  • this the same interface as the xbox 360 and it sucks . sorry microsoft no one likes this inter face and its going to fail big time. windows 7 is the best os you ever made you dont need to change it.

  • This takes the whole point out of a pc..

  • no, no, no, this is not a PC OS. no.

this is a smart phone/pad OS. i will not pay microsoft money to give me crap... they claim that it will more personal then all OS's of the past. from what i see? its very boring, lifeless. from windows 7 to this mediocre crap.

i'll get an apple or better yet get Linux before i put this on any of my machine.

  • Why would you go and ruin one of the best (if not) os's on the market. Windows was awesome and it is right now, it works so well with mice and keyboards and is awesome for every single application. Your new touch optimised os looks to be absolute crap, I want my taskbar my start menu and my desktop. I don't want live tiles and I don't want widgets or settings. This os makes sense on a tablet, that's a given, it would work flawlessly and suit it well, I'd buy it on a tablet but not ever on pc

  • wtf are they thinking? What about installing apps and GAMES like fps's and mmorpgs. You know? the reasons that really keep most people on windows.

  • Looks like mango

  • windows 8 is going to suck BIG TIME. if you have a screen bigger than 12" then it will be horrible trying to run all of these simple apps designed for small screens on big, hd monitors. also, not many people have touch screen monitors, so people running windows 8 on a desktop will be in hell trying to navigate the horrible start menu. there is 1 way to properly use a pc and that is with a keyboard and mouse. NOT TOUCH SCREEN.leave touchscreens to tablets and phones, as its not worth it on pc's.

  • double click=double tap.............new my ass!

  • I'm not sold. The price of the touchscreen monitor + the cost of Windows 8 is probably going to break the bank for most people. In my opinion, it would be easier (and more worthwhile, in the end) to make a Linux OS that can do (basically) the same things. Just my thoughts, take them as you will.
