People like Robert De Niro,Dustin Hoffman and Al Pacino are celebrities because of their brilliant achievements in Acting.I admire and look up to them.The guy who invented The Intenternet and the guy who discovered DNA deserve a mention.

I honestly don't know. For myself I don't, other than in dentists waiting rooms. I find them mindbogglingly boring. I'm not sure anyone who actually enjoys them could tell you why either. Trying to live up to expectations maybe, to fit in, work out how to be accepted?

America needs change in really bad way. 8 years of lies, war and a ruined economy. I'm voting Obama for kid and all the young people to have a chance for a future free of more war, poverty and domination by a ruling class.

I suspect a lot of attachment to celebrity is in lieu of family or community, a sense of identification with a certain admired programmes lifestyle or attitude, sense of safety, or a whole host of other factors.
