Using a 14x8 prop in the video. Seems to idle ok, but throttle up anywhere over halfway and it cuts off, you can see this at the end.

  • Have you managed to solve the problem? I have the same engine with a similar exhaust in a top-flite FW190. Mine won't run for more than five seconds. I think it may have something to do with the exhaust filling up with oil and it running back in the engine, but I'm not sure... My engine is completely upside down though, and not at an angle like yours...

  • super tigers have a shity carb.i know from personal experience!

  • @Corsairman22 - I got it running great!

  • @jesknow I have an old Lanier Bearcat Fiberglass 40 size ARF with an O.S. .90 running an APC 12x10 prop. It's still not tweeked but, its so smooth and so fast I had to rebuild the elevator and stab cause it cracked on both sides. It beat a World Models P-51 running a YS 110 4 stroke flat out. The Dago Red is more streamlined then the Bearcat and with the same engine would beat the cat.

  • @UtRadioGuy Did you check ur plug? It may run fine for awhile and then quit. See if there is little white crust on the filament. If it's fine then ur carb rubber gasket under the carb may be loose or hard. I have new carbs for all sizes of Tiger engines just to swap one out to see if it is the carb. Maybe the fuel is old. Good luck

  • @Corsairman22 Really? i got a OS75AX with an apc 13/8 turning 10,200rpms. It is also inverted. btw, it in a world models p-51 40 size dago red!

  • After not flying my plane for about 8 yrs I went out this weekend, and my super tiger .91 ran good on my first flight, then I started having problems with it. It will run at full throttle when cool, but after it warms up It will run full throttle for a second, and then want to quit. If I have it at idle, and throttle up quick it wants to shut down. It loads up on idle, but if I lean it out it won't run right. I am good with Super Tiger, but I think it's sucking air from somewhere.

  • Here's the Super Tiger manual link, with trouble shooting....

  • I took my planed out this weekend, and I could not get the mixture right on my S.T. 91. It runs great cold, but after it heats up a bit at full throttle it looses RPM, and if I back off the throttle it runs ok. I just can't get it to run for long periods at full throttle. What the heck? I am pretty good with these motors so I know it's sucking air from somewhere. The plane hasen't been flown in about 8 years, but I always start it once a year. When I give it full is wants to quit running.
