This theme debuted during NBC's coverage of Super Bowl XXVIII (Cowboys/Bills part two in January 1994). This would be the only season in which this theme was used. For the final three seasons that NBC covered the American Football Conference, they used a now familar theme composed by Randy Edelman.

Fellow 49er fan here.. not many of us left. Best NFL intro theme ever. Bar none. I get the same nostalgia as well.

This is hands down my favorite NFL intro song if nothing else because I remember the 1994 season so fondly. I am a 49ers fan, and that season was truly glorious, I was 16 years old, just got my first car, took my last "family vacation" with my parents to Florida that winter and life was just good...what a time it was! This theme song reminds me of those days!...Love it!
