Poland's second largest city, located in the centre of the country.Lodz is becoming more and more a logistic, transportation, as well as conference and congress
center. Moreover, the city is constantly developing metropolitan features, mainly banking, finance,
universities and services. Several important fair events are organised here every year, e.g.
"Intertelecom" - International Fair of Telecommunications, "Interglass" - International Glass and
Ceramics Fair, "Na styku kultur" - International Tourism Sites Fair. The number of students is steadily growing up, to reach
presently 100,000 Polish and foreign students. Łódź is most of all a city of festivals. The largest of
them are: The Festival of Dialogue of Four Cultures, Camerimage and The Łódź Biennial. The present unique character of Lodz is the result of its history formed bymulticultural society. Apart from Poles, the city was inhabited by Jews, Germans, Russians and
others...Many objects reminding of these cultures have survived till today. Today's tourists take
great delight in seeing beautifully refurbished tenements and residential structures of great factory
magnates- the real gems of Art Nouveau and eclecticism and unrivalled nineteenth-century
industrial architecture. The city's pride and joy is Piotrkowska Street where are stores, art galleries,
cinemas and more than 100 restaurants, pubs, discos.

Wiki is out of date in this subject. From July 2007 Krakow is bigger. Can't add here links, so please look in google for phrase "Kraków większy od Łodzi" and than check it out.

One remark: Lodz now is not the 2nd, but the 3rd biggest Polish city (after Warsaw and Krakow). It's not to the commercial, but the description "About the Video".
