WTISD Laureates 2010: Speech by Laureate Mr Wang Jianzhou, Executive Director, Chairman and CEO of China Mobile, at the Ceremony of the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day 2010. The purpose of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) is to help raise awareness of the possibilities that the use of the Internet and other information and communication technologies (ICT) can bring to societies and economies, as well as of ways to bridge the digital divide. The theme of WTISD 2010 is: Better city, better life with ICTs. The global ceremony commemorating the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day 2010 was held on 17 May during the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China.
