Normally all silver in color, I noticed one of my fish had started to develop darker fins than the others. Also he developed a yellow spot on the tip of his nose and would flash blue down his sides. He began making mounds in the sand and would flash his colors while dancing around in front of the females, when he had their attention he would lure them back to his little mound. When I came to check on them this morning they were in full tilt and the male had the nicest colors and darkest fins I had ever seen on him. Enjoy

  • Cool vid! I'm setting up a group in a 60 breeder... I was curious about your set up... it looks wide open except for the large rock to the right... I but wasn't sure if you had anything but that in the tank? Or if you'd put more in if you had the opportunity. I have nothing but sand in mine right now, do you suggest a rock or two for separation? I'm getting 8.

  • Thanks! I left the majority of the tank bare to allow them to sift through the sand without too many obstacles. They also need room to build mounds. The large rock breaks the line of sight and when the male is being aggressive they can lose him for a few minutes. Good luck with yours.
