Mar 26 - Italian designers unveil the 'Let's Pizza' vending machine.

Pizza can be bought from the machine for five euros, around 6 U.S dollars.

The device uses infra red rays and mechanised processes to make the dough, spread the topping and baking the pizza in a matter of minutes.

The product which is viewed by its designers as a way to beat the recession, will hit the high street in the coming weeks.

Basmah Fahim reports.

  • Che Picato!

  • Booooo I like the original ones not the vending

The stone baked pizzas hive more aroma the oven baked ones don't taste so good either

  • A clarification: for the U.S. market only, the garnish ingredients for pizza are frozen, in accordance with the Food and Drug Administration laws.

Unless other exceptions, otherwise, only fresh ingredients are used.

  • You're wrong. The machine works in a totally aseptic environment, water is stored in protective bags (sealed) and the flour is stored in a sterile container.

There is no human contact in the pizza dough preparation, neither of the pizza itself (so, much more hygienic than the normal preparation).

Finally, this machine uses fresh ingredients only, not frozen ones!

  • @miamicapriata

its refrigerated and probably refilled/changed everyday or at least every two or three days.

  • not true, how long does flour stay in a bag before you buy it? the same with bottled water. You dont know how long the've been there. I'd imagine that they have strict quality control in the machine as they dont want to get a law suit from somebody getting food poisoning

  • still be better off with a fresh restrant or home made one

  • I'm sure the people who made it looked into that.....if not then what a bunch of idiots......

  • Puke: I will make them myself. :-)

    Much more yummie !
