I believe Yebisuboshi translates to "Ebisu Stars" but if I'm wrong about that, someone please correct me.
The second DLC stage for Otomedius Excellent dropped today. Now for a lot of Western players, this stage may not be recognizable. It is from Ganbare Goemon, known as Legend of the Mystical Ninja in the West, but we haven't seen a release of that series here since 1999.
However, this stage is important in the world of Otomedius. Now it should be clear that Otomedius is essentially a mash-up of a whole bunch of Konami IPs. In the original arcade release of Otomedius, and its console port Otomedius Gorgeous, there was a playable male character named Emon 5. He is to Ganbare Goemon what Kokoro Belmont is to Castlevania. According to Mine Yoshizaki, Emon 5 was unable to be included in Otomedius X for technical reasons with his character design. So this stage is in tribute to him.
For those of you wondering what Emon 5's play style was like, Arnval is an exact copy of his load out, which in turn is a copy of Hikaru's load out from Sexy Parodius.
The boss this time is Yae (aka Emon 8) from Ganbare Goemon, who scolds you for kicking Emon 5 off the team (the girls in Otomedius G don't really like him all that much). And like Stage EX1, I'm playing on Expert Difficulty.
I think that this stage is easier than the St. Gradius Academy stage. If you only have the MSP for one of the two EX stages, I'd say take this one unless you have a great undying love for the Parodius series (and believe me, I understand completely if you do). I think it's overall more enjoyable and again a bit easier for players who may not quite be up to the challenge of St. Gradius Academy just yet.
Again, this stage is 480 MSP.
Actually, that is semi correct, but Google translate has it like that, supposedly a word conjuncture with Ebisu+Hoshi.
Anyways, there will be more stages to come out soon. As these EX stages seems to test your skill within the difficulties associated.

@NeoStrayCat Thanks. To say my Japanese is not very good would be giving me a ton of credit, so I just went with the translation I was given :)
Yeah, I had a feeling there would be a good number of EX stages (I heard 8 somewhere). These are a lot of fun though, and way more difficult than the non-EX stages, loop number being equal.

@Korszca Exactly, Gamestone forums already hinted that, lol.

@NeoStrayCat I checked out the thread there just now (I never heard of Gamestone before you just mentioned it) and I'm sure I got the info on there being 8 EX Stages second or third hand via that thread.
BTW (and this is pure conjecture) I think they used Yae as the boss because she is in many ways the real leader of the Goemon team. She also has the ability to turn into a mermaid, an ever-common boss in Parodius and even in the first Otomedius (as you already know).

@MightySquirrel Yeah, these EX stages add a nice bit of difficulty to them and are really very fun to play.
