@blackmetaldad An affectionate piss-take I would wager. Just taking the lack of PC-ness to an extreme that wasn't in the original. That's what comedy sketches do, they exaggerate everything. They also mock '70s Doctor Who, Benny Hill etc. and combine them with OTB.

@blackmetaldad I agree about some responses on here mate, but don't agree On The Buses was terrible... corny in parts yes, and of its time, and needs to be seen that way. The now over-the-top PC era we live in sadly won't be affected by people viewing a 40-year-old sitcom on ITV3. I say 'sadly' because it's generally gone too far the other way in the UK, PC in itself is actually starting to cause potentially damaging conflict between cultures etc. Bit heavy for YT I know. GET THAT BUS OUT!!!

I think that while this is a tribute to on the buses theres an element of disapproval of the " non pc " nature of the series which was a product of its time. enfield and whitehouse are also affected by the pc environment they emerged from. I dont quite understand the satire on barry cryer/ jimmy snazzbox , who was nothing to do with on the buses. maybe its part of the put down of older more conventional c omedy that appears in their work at times.

In the past the writers behind Love Thy Neighbour and other series of the time have appeared in interviews to defend their work and I thought maybe the interview segments of this were a satire on that?
