Mine comes from a book titled "Piano Pieces from the RECITAL REPERTOIRE" G. Schirmer New York/London. I wish you luck. I love this piece...it is my summer assignment.

I thought I knew a lot of so-called "minor" works for piano, but I don't remember ever seeing this score. I enjoyed it. Of course, as in a few of Chopin's Nocturnes, I can not understand why Respighi gets so excited - and in the last quarter. It must have been quite a night!

I'm only acquainted with Respighi's orchestral works, but this is quite beautiful, colorful, and yet characteristically Respighi in some ways, like the hint of a pentatonic scale at times... and there in the middle it has a definitely orchestral quality... of which he was a master.
