Chandra Miars once again dances on silk, at Friday night's Taste of the Arts event. She swings like a pendulum during this performance. She doesn't fight her momentum, but rather gently guides it along as she crafts her art.
At 4:26 with one foot she wraps silk around her other foot, quickly and precisely (better than I could do with my hands!). At 4:44 she performs a simple looking, but scary move. She balances her entire body on her tailbone, while only using her feet to hold herself in place. She has to maintain the tension on the silk, yet she can't use her hands. So brave!
I can't imagine the hours of practice and dedication it takes to make the difficult look easy, and the easy look amazing.
The music Chandra performs to is by Karsh Kale.
