Nicole Parker as Elphaba preforming "Defying Gravity" from "Wicked". This is from January 17, 2009 (her third show) along side Alli Mauzey as Glinda (the "Ga" is silent). This is AUDIO ONLY accompanied by photos of Nicole's transformation courtesy of broadway.com.

  • Why does everyone say that Idina is the best? A) You shouldn't rank Actors, they're all unique, and equally award worthy B) She wasn't even that vocally good, and her acting didn't make up for it.

  • @jessehjensen I disagree. Idina I feel is not that great. With the cast recording I sometimes have the feeling she sounds like a boy. I liked it at first, but now it annoys me. Not that I could do it any better XD

The best Elphaba for me, judging from yt vids (haven't had the opportunity to fly to london/new york and germany was too far away as well) , is Willemijn Verkaik, who was Elphaba in Stuttgart and Oberhausen and will be Elphaba in Scheveningen as well starting next fall.

  • Idina Menzel is still at the top. No one will ever top her.

  • @PaparazziesDarling My point is teenage girls shouldn't feel so hot just because they played The Wicked Witch of the West in their high school production of The Wizard of Oz. Elphaba is an entity of Gregory Maguire, who wasn't even born when the original Oz novel was written. He merely added more to the story.

  • @ActingDude17

    its the same

  • Ha! Meet the Spartans and Disaster Movie girl. That's awesome!!

  • @tdonset08 check out her final defying gravity, she improved so much since the beginning... trust me. she's amazing now.

  • She has a rather good voice.
