Show Hidden Files:
defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES

Hide Hidden Files:
defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles NO

Relaunch Finder:
killall Finder

(or hold 'alt', right click the finder icon in the dock and select relaunch)

  • Any way to hide/show specific folders? The user data folders are driving me nuts in my documents!

  • @JacJavJac @JacJavJac I looked into it briefly, as i wanted to make the Library folder visible but the rest to all stay hidden. But i had no luck and went with the alias. There are probably ways to do it, but it will require quite allot of effort as far as i know.

    If feel it should be as simple as ticking a box if you get info on a file, but its not =/
