Always loved this as a kid. Mama used 2 tell me 2 get up & dance when this record came on. Didn't know the bristol stomp was a dance. I just made up my own dance, it was a cross between the pee wee herman, spank & rock. Mama used 2 laugh her head off but u couldn't tell me i wasn't the coolst 5 year old in town. LOL

@MrRJDB1969 The reference to Bristol Palin in reference to th song "Bristol Stomp" was that her performance on Dancing with the Stars was more like "stomping" than dancing. I think she did pretty good for someone with no dance/performance background. So many people hate her mother, so they just decide to hate on Bristol too.

@MrRJDB1969 thanks. they recorded this the year I went away to college, so hearing it much later was like a bonus from the past.
Thought that this was a description about Bristol Palin's "dancing skills" on Dancing With the Stars.
Kidding, always loved this song.

always wondered - was this Bristol, England, Bristol, NY or where?

@bbbartolo : The Dovells were from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and this "Bristol", is a city just outside of Philadelphia. The "Stomp" was a new dance kids were doing in 1960 and thus "The Bristol Stomp" was born.
