We have put our brains to work and came up with the CoreMD, a visionary product, and made it a reality. With the CoreMD, the Pancreum Genesis Artificial Pancreas System (CGMS + Insulin & Glucagon Delivery), as well as the InsuLean Insulin Delivery System and the Vigil Continuous Glucose Monitoring System, will be designed & marketed at a much faster pace and for less, resulting in a more affordable product that will benefit all people with diabetes.

The CoreMD's main purpose is to create a flexible, open platform, common architecture design that would allow for medical devices to be more affordable than what is available in the market today. At the same time, provide a product that is smarter, more convenient, safer and even more ecologically correct than anything you've seen in the wearable, replaceable medical device field.

Smarter - A high-performance 32-bit CPU resides in the CoreMD making it smarter than any other wearable device in the diabetes management field.

More Convenient - By making the CoreMD Bluetooth-enabled, it's not necessary to carry an outdated, button-driven, hand-held controller, like current devices in the market. You may use your own high-tech, touch-screen Android smartphone, iPhone/iPod Touch, Windows Mobile PDA or similar. If you don't have such a device, we'll provide you with one!

Safer - A second microprocessor in the CoreMD double-checks all functions being performed by the main CPU (such as insulin delivery) and may halt insulin delivery if it finds an issue.

More Ecologically Correct - By putting the CPUs and battery in the CoreMD, using a rechargeable battery and making pre-filled reservoirs an option, there's no need to throw so many lithium batteries, electronic boards, syringes and insulin vials away every few days.

More Affordable - The CoreMD is NOT disposable, so no electronic boards with the CPUs and batteries are thrown away every three days. As an example: This means that the wearable, replaceable insulin pump that attaches to it, only contains the reservoir and the mechanisms to insert the cannula and deliver insulin. This wearable, replaceable insulin pump will be smaller and much more affordable than the available wearable, pod-shaped pump in the market today. There will be no need to buy an additional hand-held controller if you use your own PDA or smartphone.

Faster Development Cycle - Because the CoreMD will have an open platform and common architecture design, other devices in an artificial pancreas system, such as a CGM and a glucagon pump, may be developed in parallel by partner companies, making the Artificial Pancreas availability a reality much sooner!

The Pancreum systems are made up of a combination of several possible devices: the PDA (Personal Diabetes Analyzer) and its App, the CoreMD, the GlucoWedge, the Betawedge and the AlphaWedge.
