The midi file of my piano solo, a PDF notation file and the MP3 backing track file I used in this video are all available on my website at http://www.Lot2Learn.com

Another amazing composition from the pen of T. Monk. Each time I play this I learn something new. In fact, I had a hard time deciding which take to post (I did two of them) and this one won the coin toss. ;-)

So many great harmonic avenues to travel, trying to decide which one is the fun part, and then seeing where it leads one to. I may try to add some annotations as time permits and I will try to answer questions posted here (as time permits). Hopefully, the MidiKeyz keyboard will help you decipher what I am playing to help you broaden your musical vocabulary. Then you can construct your own sentences to express yourself in your own way. That's what I'm doing here.

Thanks to Jamal at www.Midikeyz.com for the MidiKeyz keyboard display, and as always, thanks to you for listening.

  • @Darylib Thank you for your comment.

  • Your beautiful "approaches" of weel-known jazz-standards always tempt me to sing along. Terrible! ;-) I do not WANT to ruin them! ;-)
