  • Very informative video with quality shots of this tiny critter. Good work on the easy-to-understand explanation of the physiologies as well.

Btw, just curious, in you tag, are those the words for "tick" in different languages?

  • @PhylumStats yes!

  • Oh God I HATE ticks, when I get tick bites they itch for YEARS "literally" and they swell up and stuff.

I'd rather get bit by 100 mosquitoes and or fleas than one tick.

I'm so glad you killed it like that. I hope it suffered.

Hell actually I don't really care about mosquitoes, they never really bother me, especially if there is another person near me. And their bites last about a minute or less. But ticks man, God, I have had nightmares about those damn things.

  • Brilliant images, fascinating information. I have learned to love the tick! Long may he suck human and animal blood - anybody's except mine :o)

  • Truly informative, and I loath ticks. Wish they did more documentaries of them. Exactly how many SPECIES of ticks are there recorded on Earth?

  • ugly tick

  • OMG TICK ANUS

  • freat movies

  • That horror movie TICKS about ticks the size of your hand really creeped me out! :o

  • @JoshTehVideoMaker It depends on when and how you remove it. If it stays for 2 days, you are more likley to get lime. But if it is removed in some hours, you might just survive. If you try to do it with your fingers, you will force its bodyflouids into your bloodstream, making you less likely to survive the bloodthirsty attack. I have never got any diseases from ticks, and me and me boyscouts are in the woods frenquently.

  • forgot to put this in my other comment, but out of all the ticks i have been bit by in Germany, Georgia, and Ireland i have never once gotten any type of diesease fortunantly

  • I fucking hate ticks, they are neat to look at but it's fucking annoying when i go walking in the woods and slip into some leaves and all of a sudden i am covered with 20+ tiny ticks

  • the one at @3:11 i almost pooped my self

  • 2:35 you have a micrograph of a tick capitulum. How did you fix and mount that specimen and what type of microscope did you use. My ticks are over clearing...
