Part 1 of 2. Classic Game Room HD turns on their new Magnavox Odyssey 2 video game console system... will is start up after 20+ years of not being used, or will it fizzle and explode into flames? The Magnavox Odyssey 2 was Maggie's entrance into the American video game market already dominated by Atari 2600 in 1978. In Europe it was known as the Philips Videopac G7000 and in Brazil it was called the Philips Odyssey. The original Magnavox Odyssey 1 was released in North America in 1970. CGRHD bought an O2 on ebay and this is the first time we unpacked the unit and turned it on. Will it work????? The tension builds as the joystick controller is untangled, the power cord plugged in and the world waits, with baited breath, for the power button to be pressed in sending a stream of current through the Magnavox Odyssey 2 sending us all on an odyssey of classic arcade video gaming!!!! Travelling through time and space has never been so much fun. This is old school retro antique collectible video gaming at its finest. Mess with the Odyssey 2 and prepare for a world of hurt, O2 game reviews are coming, as are review shorts of accessories like the controller. This is not a PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii. This takes the 360 and pounds it into the dirt with its mighty array of plastic buttons.

  • Sir at Inecom, I must truly credit you for keeping this MASSIVELY interesting! This is the point of YouTube, in a single video (or three!)

And NOW I wished we kept our old ColecoVision/ADAM system - you would have inspired me to reinvigorate it or something!

  • RCA to Coax adapter? Bah!

It's not a REAL video game system if it does not connect to your TV with antennae leads attached by two screws.

Yes. You heard me right. SCREWS!

  • The new Magnavox Odyssey 2!

Your parents help you hook it up.

  • lol no one has VCR

  • Last thing, my input thing doesn't look like yours does. Is there another adapter I need?

  • Hey, I've got a quick question...

I've got the version of the Magnavox Odyssey 2 with controllers that AREN'T hardwired into the console.. I can't find one on Ebay, anywhere, so, I have no idea what's it's worth.... Do you know what it's worth, if I was to sell it?

    CGR 4 Life.

  • I'm glad we're going back to a single chord for video and audio (HDMI), because all that yellow and red and white crap was getting annoying. Not to mention all the component crap.

  • Hahaha funny video, I admire this guy, he's living in the past, literally!.. Old consoles and VCR, classic...lol

  • LOL I love the beginning of your vid, with the smooth little control shoved aside with a HUGE pro-magnum man sized Odyssey

  • is there some way to make a component video adapter for rf acable

  • although we can get videopac, does the odyssey 2 work on PAL television? (i doubt that it will work myself)
