Whether it's Gabrielle Andersen Scheiss and her Epic finish in LA 1984 or Seb Coe and his amazing 1500 win after his equally amazing 800m loss earlier in the week in Moscow 1980 or Mary Decker leading every step of the 3k and then every step of the 1500 until the final bend against the Russians on the 1983 WC or Mottram vs Bekele in a race that no one believed (maybe one believed) should have been a race some truths find there way to the finish everytime.

  • By the way, in the description you say "Bekele". It wasn't Kenenisa, it was his brother Tariku. Mottram would've easily been defeated by Kenenisa.

  • I had a tear in my eye watching this. So emotional and motivational!

  • Song?

  • For those naive enough to think that -the 1983 world championship race between Mary Decker and the russians was not a political n ideological combat didnt understand how it was in those days. They wanted to beat Mary and take her down and prove and their system and way of life was superior. But Mary triumphed in the end,and that Russian girl falling down at the end of that race was symbolic to me and the rest of the world.Great video !

  • I agree with tildyc that Mary Decker during the 1984 3000 acted like a poor sport. While she cried, screamed and glared at Zola Bud on the in field, she was the ugliest woman I've ever seen. But don't let that moment in time discount an entire career of middle and distance racing. The passion that day was directed in the wrong direction, but without that passion, she never would of become the exceptional runner she was... We all make mistakes.

  • thanks for motivating at least a million people all around the world. please if possible make more videos..

  • they don't even know yet

  • Cross country coach here, im planning to play this for my boys when we go to states

  • I always come to Fancy Boy to get myself out there on a tough day. I love running! But- I do not care for may decker- she was a very talented runner- but she is a poor sport and seemed always to blame her failures on others. Zola Bud- now that was a class act!
