  • Mark, thanks!! I'm so glad to know that Kay's still with us...dah. I shoulda checked Snoops. Hope she gets a laugh outta me sending her to Heaven before her time...sorry Kay. My apologies. Rock on!!!!

  • @manwhatupduck I don't know how much singing she does anymore as she is getting up there in age. In the late eighties she toured with Frankie Laine. I traveled to see the show in thre diferent places. I'm one of Frankie's biggest fans as you might tell by the number of Laine clips I have on YT including clips from this show. Plus I love Kay's singing. It was a great show.

  • Kay had too much Jazz behind her and she was part Native...oops, that is scary!!! She was (is) still one of the best voices in the world and a beauty, inside and out!!! Rock on in Heaven, Kay, 'cause that's where you are! Let's not talk about PL and RC, they were better connected than Kay and that, folks, is that. She had more talent and beauty on those two had and I'll shake a cottonmouth to that!

  • @manwhatupduck You are getting a little ahead of time as Kay is still with us.

  • Little known fact was that she sang on two Glenn Miller recordings in 1939 or 40. I think she was 17. Miller used her for a sub. Crazy for not keeping her.

  • yes I know about the Miller recordings even though I have never found one. That was also before she had her voice problems that led to her unique sound. I always wondered what she sounded like before.

  • Everyone in Youtube land is looking for the Hucklebuck by Kay Starr can someone please post it PLEASE

  • Love this 'Soundie' from Kay Starr, I think it is about 1950. She is one of those artists that looked better as she got older if there is any footage of her appearances on the Perry Como Show 1959 it's worth a look . She must have been 37/38 but she looks AND sounds fantastic, anyone else agree?

  • That was great. like a music video from 1950.

  • Shes very good. I actually thought she was coloured when I first heard her.

  • I love watching any performance of hers and never heard this song before! I love it!

  • @markalson1938 Okay, I made my 'public' apologies below!!! She's the best of the best and I'm glad she's still around to sing!!!!
