The problem with steel is that they're too heavy and prevent me from doubling when I need to, outside of Steel Swords and Steel Bows. Steel Axes are super inaccurate and Steel Lances sort of have that problem as well, plus they're pretty useless in the upcoming chapters.

And then later on, I can just switch to killers (they're available starting chapter 13).

I'm thinking you're buying too many cheap weapons - are they really going to be powerful enough later? Won't you need steel to deal reasonable amounts of damage?
