A small SUV from Volkswagen that tries to answer the demand for fuel efficiency. At the same time it offers itself as a "fun" and "capable" off road option.
well i'm not sure what the ratings are but i can tell you i had my 2003 Golf 2.0 for nearly 8 years and it had very little issue. the engine is still strong and it's a great car. now i have a tiguan and hoping i get the same quality from it.
vw reliability is no longer the issue it used to be. the jetta, rabbit and eos are now on the same consumer reports recommended list that many of the japanese autos are on. according to posts on the tiguan owners club forum they average 23-25mpg per tank. i like the tiguan and the rav4 but i traded in my 07 rav4 for the 08 gti
Toyota Rav4 is bigger, cheaper, more powerful, and is a Toyota. VW makes the best looking cars but reliabilty sucks. and the Tiguans 18 city and 24 highway needs to be improved

Tiger-Iguana refers to the Tiguans' versitility.
Iguana, in that it can fit or blend into any environment that it tackles this includes some pretty tough offroading.
Tiger, in that it can tackle the road with the agility and poise that a GTI has, with great handling and sporty ride.
just thought i'd Tell him why Tiger and Iguana.
He had to ask :-)
