both cars are very capable, I would take the Defender, because the G costs 3 times more than a Defender, and with less than the price of a G you can built your Defender for Extreme off road.

A defender is not strong enough for the difflock's, a lot of mechanical problems.. That's the reason why a G kosts a lot more

defender is the best 4x4. i have defender 90 td5 2001 year.. and he'sin excellent condition. Defender is somethins that must have.

I'm Defender owner. My Defender has 210.000km an i have only to change wear parts. The newer G's have a lot of electrik problems. The G is to expensive

@hansmuyshondt Don't be silly, you and the 7 thumbs up so far. You obviously don't have a clue.about either. Both great offroaders and with twin diff lockers the Defenders are unstoppable. The defender in this video is open diff both ends and look how good it is.

@e55komp As for the leaks, yes land rovers do leak a bit, not really enough to make it a serious issue in most cases not an issue at all. You are taking the most minor cases and blowing them out of proportion. Read the mechanical forums on G wagons you dumb fuck and you'll see it too is riddled with issues. Then look at the cost of repair and maintenance.

Land Rover is better offroad, it has its issues but they are easily overcome, it is more adaptable, it is easily upgradeable it is basic.win

@e55komp Not at all, total bollocks. I have driven the G wagon and seen it in the hands of others. I have not looked into all its issues but I bet if I were to go and read up on the mechanical issues there'd be alot of them. The Gasket heads? Not an issue on the TDi and not a real issue on the TD5, its only an issue on the 2.5TD seen in the late 80s models of Land Rover 90s and 110s.
