Answering a tough question raised by Belga news reporter Paul Goossens, Belgian Prime Minister Herman van Rompuy responds. Van Rompuy, during a debate in the Belgian parliament in 2006, said that he was opposed to Turkey becoming a member of the union.
@marsnr1 blahblahblah, im getting really sick of those conspiracy theorists psycho's here. I like reality and truth so I don't like what you have to say. Everyone with a sane mind would reject your over the top babbel.

Here a link you might find interesting. You didn't really believe, the EU was started to prevent war after WO II, I hope? The sentiments are way older and totalitarian and anti-democratic in nature.

You're a naive fool to trust political parties. Leading political parties not even allow people critical of the EU in top positions.
It's not nazi rethoric, it's a comparison. I hope you know that the ideals of the EU were founded in nazi Germany where the Europaischen Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft was founded in 1942. Goals: one european market, and juridical gleichschaltung. Same goals as the EU. Fascism didn't go away in 1945. I don't cry from the sideline, this is not all I do.

@marsnr1 Your exagerrated rhetoric discredits what you say. You dont have to fight, you just have to demonstrate and join a political party, stop crying from the side line and participate in society. Only a few percentage of the population in NL is member of a party. If all those discontented people would join a party you could change the whole political landscape! The people have so much power but they are lazy and do nothing with it. You are FREE to do shit so stop using nazi rethoric

And yes, I'll fight to free my country, the Netherlands from the totalitarian EU dystopia.
Power should be spread, and the "One Reich" phantasies of politicians should be stopped. We said "NO" to the treason of Lisbon (the modern version of the Enabling Act), and we do know what resulted for that: our politicians betrayed us. So politics might not be the way to stop the EU.

The EU is a dictatorship, in a democracy nations are allowed to rule their own territorium. This is something the EU with her supranational dystopia disagrees with. Nations are not allowed to rule themselves, people are reduced to taxpaying slaves who must obey the orders of the EU. Ofcourse there are so called "good reasons", solidarity blabla (actually the totalitarian EU just forces people to pay ) just like "child pornography" is always the good reason for internet censorship.

@marsnr1 What you say is absolutely absurd. The EU is NOT a dictatorship, if you have any idea of how the EU works you would with a sane mind never say that. Cynics like you are very simplistic and lazy actually. Crying like a bitch on the internet and against friends etc etc but actually using your civic rights and fucking do something is not an option to you people. History time and again has proven that large scale demonstrations WORK. So dont be a bitch and complain and actually DO something

@Aeythvaenn
What referendum? You mean the referendum where we said "NO" to?
All parties are anxious to avoid to make the EU dictatorship an issue....they don't to prevent it all costs.
The EU is a dictatorship, it robs countries of their sovereignity. IWhy do you think it's called the EUSSR by a lot of people?

@battlecrysteven I know what you mean but in the end you cant. Thats as simple as it is. To do that you must have cooperation, to do that you must have agreement, to do that you must have diplomacy and to do that you must have politics. It just comes round.
