His mother was involved with social workers all her life and knew how to manipulate them. She married Peter's father, who was 17 years her senior, when she was just 16, having lied to him about her age

Connelly, 28, and Barker, 33, of Tottenham, north London, were sentenced for causing or allowing 17-month-old Peter's death in May, but could not be named at the time for legal reasons

After the trio's Old Bailey trial ended in November last year, there was public outrage at the way Peter was let down by the authorities
