http://www.thedailytail.com -- Geppetto eats so fast you may even think you forgot to serve his plate. But the Omega Paw Portion Pacer is a fantastic way of slowing him down. Read the full review at TheDailyTail.com.

  • Wonderful. Another thing to take into consideration is if the ball is covered with any materials that could be toxic for dogs.

  • @TheDailyTail I havent been able to see or touch one of these products, but I can guarantee you that a 100mm bocce ball is just as heavy if not heavier than one of these.

  • We had to decide when to stop, and we decided it would be when Geppetto left the plate.

Omega Paw offers different sizes of this ball. There's a complete review at our web site, The Daily Tail. If you visit us, search for "omega paw".

  • Hi, killerkowalckyk

Thank for your comment. Congratulations on your new dog! That is so wonderful. l love Great Danes!

I would wait and see if your dog will need the ball before trying anything. He/she may not eat that fast. Our Saint Bernard eats in a perfectly acceptable speed.

Also, I would take into consideration the weight and size of a bocce ball before trying it. If it's too light, it will fly out your dog's plate. If it's too small, your dog may try to swallow it.

  • in all honesty this video could have been stoped at 1:40 after that the dog wasnt really eating anything but just licking the bowl. However this does look to be effective in slowing the dogs eating patterns. Perhaps in larger bowls 2 balls should be used so that ther isnt a point where the dog could easily fit his whole snout into the bowl. Thanks for the vid!

  • Im getting a great dane very soon (within a month) I am going to try this out with a bocce ball and see how the dog responds after a few meals, if it seems to be working I'll but the stainless steel version for $14.99
