The left over eggs that contain embryos that have stopped showing signs of growth are allowed to disintegrate in the lab (they would never survive). Extra healthy eggs are frozen and can be implanted at another time. And I think that with both of the donors consents the remaining eggs can be donated to science (for research)...

Hmm, Its a religious thing, The Church believes that even at the 1-cell state, your still human, the process of In vitro Fertilization takes a number of the eggs and re implants the healthier looking ones.

Those studies show a very SLIGHT increased risk. There are risks in having a child to the mohter and child in ANY pregnancy. The risks with IVF are not huge. Just a bit more than the risks would be ordinarily. Over all the risks are quite minimal to both mother and child. And yes, I have read the studies, and I understand them ;-)

Thanks Pozorrogo, but I think you should learn more about the procedure and new technologies before post anything, above all if you are just going to insult people. Soon will be more effective procedures than IVF with a higher rate of succesfull pregnancies. That could be more worthy than IVF. BTW i'm not retarded.
