RLW 1976 Motocross 125cc

Back "in the day" there was a motocross track outside of Romney, WV. It could be dusty and hot but I started to go much faster that summer, my second year of racing, and all of the sudden the top 20's turned into top 10's that turned into top 5's. I would have to wait until the next year at High Point to get into the top 3.

my family used to gocamping at Camp Wapicoma every memorial day weekend in the late 70's -early 80's and we would always see motocrossers racing...this is when i fell in love with motocross. is this the same track? you also spoke of High Point, which is where I grew up! too cool...thanks for this blast from the past!

My husband and I attended all these races in the 70's. We worked at the track, helped score, flagged , and sold concessions. We were the original owners of Romney Cycle Center back then and helped start the Hampshire Race Track. We sure have a lot of good memories from then and made a lot of good friends.
