You wont find a more scenic running adventure any where in the world. The Red Rock "snow to sun" journey
begins at 11k feet on the Giant Steps Lift at Brian Head
Ski Resort. It ends at 3k feet just outside of St. George.
What is in between? 180 miles of heaven that becomes pure running bliss!
Runner #1 will begin the race with a lift ride to 11,000 feet. Then athletes will endure the 1,323 foot elevation loss over a 3.7-mile run down a groomed trail back to the Brian Head parking lot. This leg of the race has no van support access and runners will need to be prepared to pack their own water. Step lively as this is not your morning training route along the paved parkway. There are many uneven surfaces, rocks, and steep trail descents. Along the way you will see stunning panoramic views, mountain lakes, and if you have the soft step of a lion you may even see some wildlife. This leg of the race is appropriately named Giant Steps.
Runner #1 will need to spend some time running your local trails and training on some downhills as this entire section is descending.
Do you have what it takes to descend the Giant Steps? Sign up to run the Red Rock Relay now because the race is limited to 200 teams.
