  • @quiteawful ''Terrible'' doesnt explain anything. Also I've had less injuries in Jitsu than basketball or football. Looking after yourself & being a fighter are two different things anyway. Ur totally taking it out of context. Sorry u had a bad experience with it, but slagging it off isn't constructive. Alot of people benefit greatly from jitsu & continue to enjoy it & ur pissing on their fire. Different strokes for different folks eh!

  • @mrdubcrazy Why do I feel the need to diss it constantly? Because it's terrible and doesn't teach you how to fight in either stand up, clinch or ground. Due to the massive emphasis on breakfalling (more than any martial art I know about) I have been left with some serious injuries and from what I understand I am not the only one. Telling people that at green belt in this style they should be able to look after themselves instills false confidence and this is dangerous.

  • @quiteawful Ur a real hater against Jitsu aren't u? What upset u so much about it that u feel the need to diss it constantly. I've seen u post insulting comments on other Jitsu pages. U really should deal with ur issues and move on. Jitsu isn't for everyone. Sorry u gave up at LB & couldn't hack it anymore. BTW i don't know who u are trying to convince everyone else or urself.

  • @mrdubcrazy not really good for defence and i've trained in "Jitsu" and got to light blue belt. i went to a BJJ class and got totally stomped. After doing about 6 months of BJJ I am better equipped to defend myself than with four years of "Jitsu". Muay Thai is awesome, so is boxing, because they focus on one element (stand up fighting) and thus they do it really well. Also they spar lots, which teaches you how to take hits as well as learning how to move in a fight

  • I even think the hours in the video are still right.

  • it's an activity. Sessions are in Chelmsford, at the Mildmay and Sawyers gym. Just ask the guys in the reception.

  • It is not just a course. You could go the website and see clubs that are around your area.

  • Is this a course or just an activity available?

  • And oh how I miss it!

  • A lot of this stuff is related to "The Art" of Jitsu, but the instructors, especially the ones in Brentwood where this video is from, are extremely talented in adjusting an artfull technique so that it can be applied to real-life situations. But as Sensei Collyer (Brentwood) says, "I'd rather smack him in the face, knock him out and go back to my pint, than wave my hands around trying to do something fancy".

But it's good fun! I know, I trained there for a year when I was studying in England.
