Hodowla trzmieli Bombus terrestris

Specialized Breeding Farm "POLSKI TRZMIEL" started its business activity (symbolikal) in 7th of June 2002, when it was classified and invited to take place in a very innovative and unique in European scale project, which was executed by Polish Ecological Club and Branch of Apiculture of Research Institute of Pomology and Floriculture in Pulawy called "An Implementation of bumblebees to farming practice by development of stud selected species in monitor conditions."
This Project was financed by UNO. People who were direct responsible for the Project were: professor Mieczysław Bilinski -- scientific supervision, and Mr Stanisław Flaga -- national Project coordinator.
We got first mothers of buff-tailed bumblebee (Bombus terrestris) that came from stud of professor Mieczysław Biliński in March 2003. At the beginning breeding was operating just seasonally and not on a large scale.
We gave all breed bumblebees families away to neighboring gardener, schools and fan nature for three years. Every comment concerning behavior and work of bumblebees was noted, analyzed and consulted with scientific guardians. For several years we were still working out the technology of breeding, increasing and equipping our workshop. We were developing our own stud line and getting new clients.
Nowadays thanks to our stubbornness and hard work of whole family we are the biggest stud and breed farm of bumblebees which works all year round in Poland. Our clients are either gardeners that hold growing of vegetable under cover and fruit-grower or research institution and higher education institutions.

@Thesyria1 Jedno "dziabnięcie" może zabić, ale tylko osoby uczulone na jad. Przeciętny człowiek po użądleniu odczuwa niewielki ból, no chyba że trzmiel użądli w usta albo w nos wtedy można się popłakać.

Hej, właściwie po co hoduje się trzmiele ? spełniają one jakieś funkcje, czy po prostu robi się to żeby odratować gatunek ?

@wolfraum Trzmiele to dziś podstawowy zapylacz w ogrodnictwie - zapylają min pomidory w szklarniach, truskawki w tunelach foliowych oraz drzewa owocowe w uprawach sadowniczych. Dla mnie to przede wszystkim biznes - wystukaj w google "Polski Trzmiel".

@filipmann1 Co roku (lipiec-sierpień) wypuszczam ok. 5000 młodych matek, o trutniach nawet nie wspomnę - ale ok. 10 razy tyle. P!
