  • Amazing, this is absolutely fascinating. I sure wish you guys could fix my heart.

  • @mrhoney732 best of luck to you and your child

  • Just to echo the words of many. Our son had this surgery 2 months ago at 6 months old. He's a different baby - loads more energy and vitality now. Modern medicine is amazing and we're eternally grateful to the surgeon and hospital.

  • what is or determines the difference between the open heart surgery or the cathater surgery? my 19month old needs this surgery, but i fear that the open heart will cause mental distress and change in personality due to her age.

  • I had a VSD repair when I was approx. 6 months old I am now in my late 20's and I am completely healthy. This surgery is amazing and I am grateful to the surgeon who fixed my heart.

  • hi what will it affect ap erson if he or she has VSD ?

  • huj

  • I just came across this video. I had a VSD and Double Outlet Right Ventricle repaired in 1989 (I was about 3-4 months old.) After playing sports my whole life and running cross country and track and playing basketball 4 years in high school (I still run ~20 miles a week), I am about to graduate college. Not bragging at all, but just praising the medical community and lending a peace-of-mind to any parents whose children will undergo this procedure. Modern medicine is really a wonder.

  • Jamie had his Op on Friday, The surgeon said it went smoothly even though they found an anomaly in his chest which lengthened the op somewhat. He spent 24 hours in Post-Op care, and now he is in Intensive care, he is off oxygen, has had the chest drains removed and may even be sent to the normal ward tonight. Kids what amazing little fighters they are :-D
