I salvaged a couple of LED lights from my micro heli and to my surprise the LEDs did not required anything to flash red and blue.

Since it does not require anything, the LEDs themselves are very light. The entire setup with 2 LED's along with the required length of the wires is less than 0.5 gram.

I then decided to put it on my PZ ember so I can fly it at night.

The PZ lipos are long gone, so I am running this one on HobbyKing's 100mah zippy lipo.

A fellow RCG member gave me a site where these blinking lights can be purchased:

  • nice! it's amazing how small these bright lights have become. Great explanation of the lights and they look awesome at night! Thanks for the upload!

  • @Rcflyyer1 You're welcome! and thanks for watching.

  • Ok, see how you connected wires to battery but, not to other power source. Is their a cut off switch to turn off and on. And if so, thats the part that I am missing. As I am or will need lighting for the wing that i am building. I think that usually with lighting one end goes to battery and the other end plugs into receiver. Your input will help me to understand better. It may be something that I can scratch build . I just need basic for it. Thank you mr Rc.

  • @coolwaterhubby In order to save as much weight as possible, this setup has no switch or anything- so basically plug in Lipo and lights go on. If you want to see how to add a switch to lights that is controllable via your tx, check out my vid titled "RC Plane landing light from 9 LED Flashlight". I've edited the description to include the link to the switch. Basically, the switch goes to your tx ch (flap, gear..etc), and your lights hook up to the switch...flip your tx gear on, lights go on.
