@melistentodeathmetal I would definitely agree with you but once you get used to the old generic sound that AILD used to have, you actually begin to enjoy it quite much.

@melistentodeathmetal Frail Words Collapse is the best AILD album hands down.

@melistentodeathmetal i understand what your saying but they wrote this song in 2002, that was when this style of metal was just beginning to emerge and make a spot for itself. so in 2002 this was a new style, in 2011 it sounds generic though because so many bands have done riffs like this now

@yabbahdabbahdo Yup, that's it!
-
@HafsaxAin maybe your thinking of Unholy Confessions by them, cause the intros both sound pretty similar
to me

that intro riff is being used way too much. way too much
@ChipAndersonnn Actually, "reinvention" was originally written and recorded in 2002 on AILD's American Tragedy Split, Two years before The Eyes of the Betrayer song. They re-recorded it in 2006 but the original came a few years before. I own the American Tragedy Split but if you don't believe me you can look it up on wikipedia.

Don't think I'm hating, I love AILD (one of my favorite bands as a matter of fact) but some of their older stuff sounded like generic Metalcore. Still sounded great, but was a bit generic. Their newer albums however, destroy the competition, and secure their place as one of the greatest Metalcore bands ever to exist.
